Frequently asked questions
What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM card built directly into your device. You don't need to insert a physical SIM card. Once installed, you can immediately connect to a local network at your destination.
How does an AtlasSIM eSIM work?
After purchase, you will receive your eSIM directly by email. Install the eSIM on your device (preferably) before you depart and activate it upon arrival at your destination to immediately enjoy mobile internet.
Is my device eSIM compatible?
Most recent iPhones, Samsung Galaxy devices, Google Pixels, and other modern smartphones support eSIM. To be sure, please check that your device is compatible and unlocked before ordering.
Is my device SIM-free?
If you purchased your device through a provider, it may be SIM-locked. This means that your provider has locked the device, allowing you to connect only to their network.
You cannot install an eSIM as long as your device is locked. Do you want to use an eSIM? Please contact your provider and ask them to unlock the device.
Was your device recently unlocked? In that case, the eSIM feature may be temporarily disabled as an additional security measure by your provider. If so, contact your provider to have this restriction removed.
Are you still having trouble? Feel free to contact our support team; we are happy to help you further.
Can I keep my regular phone number?
Yes. Your physical SIM card and your AtlasSIM eSIM can be active at the same time. This allows you to keep your own phone number for calls and texts, while using AtlasSIM for mobile data.
When will I receive my eSIM?
Immediately after completing your order, you will receive an email with your eSIM and installation instructions.
When should I install my eSIM?
We recommend installing your eSIM before departure. This way, you'll be online as soon as you arrive at your destination.
How do I install my eSIM?
You will receive simple installation instructions by email. The installation process usually takes less than two minutes. Please visit our Installation page for a clear explanation.
When does my eSIM become active?
The eSIM activates automatically as soon as you connect to a supported network at your destination.
Does my eSIM use data before I travel?
No. Your data bundle will only be used once the eSIM is activated at your destination.
Is an eSIM as fast as a regular SIM card?
Yes. You use the same local networks as other mobile users. The speed depends on the coverage and network capacity at your location.
Does AtlasSIM support 5G?
Yes, where available, our eSIMs utilize 5G networks. In areas without 5G, your device will automatically switch to 4G/LTE.
Can I use a hotspot?
Yes. Most AtlasSIM bundles support tethering and hotspot usage, allowing you to share your internet connection with other devices.
In which countries does AtlasSIM work?
AtlasSIM offers eSIMs for over 190 destinations worldwide, including local, regional, and global data plans. Currently, you can only order plans for Morocco, Turkey, Egypt, UAE, and Saudi Arabia via the website. For other destinations, please contact us via WhatsApp.

Why is my location sometimes displayed incorrectly?
Some network partners use international servers. As a result, a website may temporarily show a different location than your actual location. This does not affect the operation of your internet connection.
What if I entered incorrect details when ordering?
No problem. Your eSIM is not linked to your name or passport details. In most cases, you can continue to use your eSIM. If in doubt, please contact our customer service.
